Delbert's Story
Life
After high school I entered the U.S. Army in the Military Police Corps. When my tour of duty was completed, I was fortunate to gain employment with the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office in Jacksonville, Florida. I have resided in Jacksonville now for almost nineteen years. I left the department in 1995 to pursue other interests. In 1990 I met Katherine ÂKitty who became my wife later that same year. Erin, my daughter from a previous marriage, graduated high school at Maysville. Upon marrying Kitty I also inherited three wonderful boys, Ben (who is now married to Jill), Jon (who is attending a local college) and Matt (who is now married to Zoaann and together they have three angels, Julie, Simon and Oliver). Kitty and I have one son together, Trace, who is now thirteen and is currently home schooled.
In 1990 I also made the decision to serve Jesus and became a Christian. My life has always been very interesting to say the least, however, this year it became even more exciting. I am a candidate for the U.S....Expand for more

Military
When I enlisted the recruiter had me complete a Âdream sheetÂ, a list of bases I would want to be assigned after basic training. I choose safe bases such as Ft. Knox, KY, Hawaii, and one in Pennsylvania. You can imagine what ran through my mind when I was told my first assignment was Korea. After Korea I completed my tour while stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
I chose the U.S. Army Military Police Corps for the Law Enforcement opportunity at the completion of my military commitment. I did not count on the valuable intangibles I learned along the way. I left the military with a sense of patriotism and love for my country that I had never felt before. It is this love for my country and the desire to return our country to its constitutional roots that fueled the decision to run for the U.S. Senate, representing Florida.
